BOK CHOY WITH OYSTER SAUCE
This stir fry is great comfort food that is so delicious and so simple to make! It works all the time.
INGREDIENTS:
- 3 Bok Choy hearts
- 3 tsp oyster sauce
- 2 tsp sriracha chili sauce or sambal chili paste
- 3 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp sesame seed oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
Procedure:
1. Separate the Bok Choy leaves and wash them individually under cold water. Make sure that all the dirt and grime has been thoroughly removed.
2. In a small bowl combine the oyster sauce and the sriracha chili sauce. Taste and adjust to your required palate.
3.Heat a wok to medium heat. Once hot add the vegetable oil.
4. Add the minced garlic and cook until golden and glossy. Do not brown your garlic or else it will taste bitter!
5. Add the bok choy and evenly coat the bok choy with the garlic.
6. Add the sauce mixture and toss until the bok choy is evenly coated.
7. Put the lid on for 2 minutes. Remember just steam the bok choy a little bit, don't over cook the bok choy or else it won't be crunchy.
8. Close the stove and add the sesame oil as a garnish.
9. Serve with some hot sticky rice or hot noodles!
